Role in the project
TIME4CS Team
The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, created in December 2000. The mission of the CRG is to discover and advance knowledge for the benefit of society, public health and economic prosperity. The CRG believes that the medicine of the future depends on the ground-breaking science of today. This requires an interdisciplinary scientific team focused on understanding the complexity of life from the genome to the cell to a whole organism and its interaction with the environment, offering an integrated view of genetic diseases. Research focus in four main areas: Bioinformatics and Genomics, Systems Biology, Gene Regulation, Stem Cell and Cancer, and Cell and Developmental Biology. Many efforts are also dedicated to communicate and establish a bi-lateral dialogue with society, by engaging the public and taking into account their demands and needs.
CRG’s role within the TIME4CS project is that of an Implementer - a beneficiary who is still in early stages of the implementation of Institutional Changes to support Citizen Science and is willing to face the challenge of introducing Citizen Science activities into its structures.
In the framework of the project CRG will be involved in various tasks across all Work Packages. Some of these activities include setting up training courses for CRG junior researchers, as well as other researchers in the city, and organising debates to promote CS with different stakeholders. CRG will also lead a task within Work Package 2 - Roadmap framework leading to institutional changes.
