TIME4CS “Institutional Changes required to support CS in RPOs” workshop

In the context of the Engaging Citizen Science Conference 2022, hosted in Aarhus University, on 26th April TIME4CS held a workshop to provide the participants with an overview of its paradigm and a presentation of its “reflection tool”, used to discuss participants’ challenges in implementing CS in their organisations.

During the workshop, participants were divided into 4 groups (one for each area of intervention identified by the project to help RPOs promoting the necessary institutional changes to implement Citizen Science) to work on the first steps of TIME4CS reflection tool. Between 8 to 10 participants joined each group, facilitated by one member of TIME4CS using posters and sticky notes. TIME4CS experts moved around the different groups to join the discussions. Within each group, participants were asked to brainstorm and discuss, being guided through all steps of the tool. Starting from some concrete actions to be carried out within their institutions, they suggested a long-term CS vision and reflected on which could be the success criteria of that vision, as well as on the possible involved stakeholders and their level of influence of training in CS to researchers (from early-career to senior) emerged as a common concern.

The pictures down below show the active work done by participants:

Overall, the workshop has been a success, showing a high level of participation and some interesting outcomes, such as that in 3 groups the need for the provision.
